The Ver 1 showing occurs in a region where the oldest rocks consist of a thick sequence of weakly metamorphosed siltstones and argillites which, in this area, are mapped as Devonian to Permian Stikine Assemblage. Overlying this sequence are black shales, siltstone, greywacke and conglomerates. Corals from limestone within these beds have been dated as Upper Triassic and are thought to be correlative with the Stuhini Group.

Intruding the Paleozoic and Triassic strata in the vicinity of the Ver showing are various plutons that are Eocene, Late Triassic, Late Jurassic, and Jurassic to Triassic (Bronson stock) in age. Regional maps indicate that the Ver 1 is underlain by dioritic rocks of the Upper Triassic pluton suite. Contact metamorphism consists of large zones of hydrothermal alteration with the formation of migmatites and cataclasites. Metavolcanic rocks near the contact with the Mount Verrett granodiorite intrusion contain garnets and potassium feldspar.

Little is known of detailed structure in the area, but a number of concentric features occur and these are probably tension fractures related to the intrusion of a granodiorite pluton which occurs just northwest of Mount Verrett. Regional maps show an Eocene pluton in this area.

In 1988, ten gold-bearing, pyritic and/or pyrrhotitic massive sulphide showings were discovered on the upper slopes of Mount Verrett (Assessment Report 18683). For the most part, these prospects are shear or fault related and occur within the granodiorite. Continuous chip sampling of these showings yielded a number of encouraging results. A narrow envelope of chlorite and garnet enrichment surrounds several of these showings.

Several areas with anomalous gold values occur in rocks toward the northern boundary of the Ver 1 claim, west of Mount Verrett. A sample from a shear/vein zone assayed 20.125 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 17122). Mapping indicated a strong lineament with up to 5.0 per cent pyrite crosscutting a mafic flow. Other samples from this area assayed up to 1.5 grams per tonne gold.

A second area, about 320 metres to the northeast, hosts up to 10.0 per cent pyrite in approximately a 50 metre square within foliated granodiorite. The pyrite occurs as disseminated crystals up to 0.5 centimetres and as pods or lenses up to 1.0 by 2.0 metres in area, with minor epidote and possibly some arsenopyrite. A 2.0 metre channel sample taken across a 10.0 metre width assayed 2.363 grams per tonne gold and 0.17 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 17122).

The southern slopes of Mount Verrett was prospected and sampled in 1991. Late snow cover prohibited a re-examination of the hornfelsed/skarned contact zone which had been previously sampled. Farther down slope below the snow line, a few small rusty pods were found within the mafic volcanic flows. Three of seven samples returned gold values above detection limit, to a maximum of 42 ppb.

Verification sampling at the Verrett prospect by Garibaldi Resources Corp in 2009 confirmed the presence of the mineralized zone reported by Taiga Consultants in 1988. Furhter Garibaldi reported that they confirmed the zone to be within their Verrett Block (Assessment Report 31374).
